How Milo keeps it real while I keep it couch.

Good thing Milo is of the age where he demands to exhibit his increasing independence.  "I DO IT!"  is most definitely his favorite words to string together.  As I continue to marinate in my nausea-fatigue coma, my little "I DO IT" man is learning the fine art of independent play mixed with a little 2 year old imagination...

Playing with Magna Tiles.  This is pretty much one of those daily toys. Milo loves putting together a "house."  And then fist pumping the house across the room.  Seaside-Jersey style.

Eatting dinner a scoop of peanut butter. (Yes, that's me with my legs stretched out.  Sitting on the couch. Yup.)

Milo contemplates breast augmentation plays with his balls... I should be banned from captioning pictures until I develop some couth...

My boys, putting on a concert for me.  Doctor? Rock Star?  Either one is cool by me!

Smoking a J.  Catching a case of the major sillies.

Cleaning shelves.  With body lotion.  Very expensive lotion I might add.

Looking at porn Playing Call of Duty: Black Ops with daddio.

Making mama breakfast a cake. Yum-O!
 The End.

I've been a piss-poor wife. But it's not my fault. (sort of)

It happens when you're a first trimester casualty.

The long-ass ass-sessions on the couch.  Surrounded by crumbs and empty containers of yogurt, half eatten PB and J sandwiches, string cheese wrappers and several dirty glasses...

The "so whatchu makin' for dinner"? nightly basis check-in.

"Hey hon, the cat litter needs some attention.  You scooped 2 days ago?  Do you mind revisiting? I smell their shit, like majah. love you.

me: Idol is on tonight for 2 hours."
husb:  Guess I'm giving Milo a bath tonight. AND putting him down.  Again."
me: what?

6:17am Saturday morning:
Milo: Daaaadeeeee.  Daaaadeeee. (repeat for 20 minutes)
I totally pretend like I'm in a deep, hard Princess sleep.
Afterall, it's daddy he's calling for, not me...

Refusing to eat leftovers.  Only take out gourmet sandwiches from the deli up the street will do for my lunch.  Cha-ching!!

I'm slowly taking over the closet with my maternity awesome-wear. Move over work uniforms and other straight-man attire...big girl pants and mu-mu's comin' through!!

I'm still hanging tight in the "inbetween stage" of regular pants no longer fitting comfortably or AT-ALL, yet, maternity pants are looking a little too MC Hammerish.  So I've taken to mostly wearing sweat pants or just walking around the house in pants that aren't buttoned.

My husb thinks this is an invitation.  Until he hears the sounds coming from my ass.

It's a good thing that man loves me.

my children have defied the ancient Chinese: true story

When Milo was about 2 months old, we went to spend a week with my mom.  The husb flew off to some far off land for a week and the thought of being left alone with this little creature was soaringly overwhelming.

One night, mom took us to have dinner with a friend of hers who is a Medium.  Mediums are people who have the ability to recieve and give messages with the afterlife.

Just for fun, I asked her if she felt any interesting energy from Milo.

She said a few things regarding his personality: he will LOVE the outdoors, he has ALOT of Leo in him (side note: my due date was for a Leo, but he was born a Cancer)

She went on to say that Milo was supposed to be a girl.

My first born was supposed to be a girl?  What happened?

My mind started racing: is he a girl trapped in a boy's body?  Is he going to persue gender reassignment surgery when he's older?  Are we going to be an episode on the Discovery Channel?  Will he change his name to Miley?!

The medium went on to say he and his sister have had past lives together and vowed to stay together in the next life as well. The girl was supposed to be born first. When *I* was ready to have a baby, the girl got scared, so Milo said he would go first.

"He's going to be looking for his sister at around age 4.   But right now,  he is LOVING being an only child."

(Which is true, because when I ask Milo, "Do you want a brother or a sister?"  He replies, "No, thanks.")

Right from the start, I knew the Milo-fetus was a Boy.  And when it was confirmed at 20 weeks and when I held the Milo-baby in my arms...everything felt RIGHT.

I had also referred to a Chinese birth gender chart.  The Chinese Birth Chart supposedly can predict the gender of your baby even before it's conceived with over 90% accuracy.  You line up the mother's lunar age with the month you conceive (or plan to conceive) and you get your gender prediction.

When I was pregnant with Milo, it predicted I was having a girl...

(to quote Led Zepplin)  "And it makes me wonder..."

Did my unborn children defy the ancient Chinese?!

So, according to the Chinese, this baby I'm currently carrying is a BOY.

I had a dream the other night that I was walking in a crowd.  A girl came running up to me, grabbed my arm and said, "Hey! Just wanted to let you know that your baby girl is going to be born healthy!!  She might have to go back to the hospital shortly after birth, but she is going to be FINE!"

I said, "You know I'm pregnant?"

She looked at me as if to say, I don't have time for this, of course I know you're pregnant!

"And it's a girl?  Really?"

I had so many questions, but then she ran off...

And I woke up.

Okay one more story:

I've got a friend who has an uncanny ability to *know* what a pregnant woman is having.

She looked at me from her hospital bed (she'd had baby #2 the day before) and said, matter-of-factly, "you're having a girl."

I said, "How can you tell?  The excess acne on my face?  The extreme and prolonged nausea?   Am I radiating tutu's and tea parties??!!"

"I just know."

It'll be another 2 months or so before we find out The Official Verdict.  We shall see...

stay tuned...

I still love to wash in your old bathwater..

Typically, Milo prefers the shower to a bath.  But after a night with grandma (while the husb and I went OUT!  gasp!) he now insists on the return of the bath.   I certainly don't mind, because 2 year olds in a bath tub are WAY cute.

Cue photos:

"Who's your mama?"
"You mama!"

Dude.  You are

....You make me feel like I couldn't love another

Week 8-10

Week 8:
Repeat week 7

Week 9:
Repeat week 8

It's the hangover that keeps on giving.

I've been working mucho this weeko -and mein oh mein!  On one hand -it's nice to get off the couch.  The adrenaline of being around...um, the people I work with...has kept my energy at a sufficiently productive level.

On the other hand...the hangover the 1st trimester take over is still in high tide.

The embryo-baby has ELBOWS!!

Oh! And guess who's interested in waking up in the middle of the night?!
My 2 year old!  Yay!!!

Who does he think he is??  A newborn??!!

In other news, the husb and I went out for some fine dining.  There's something really *magical* about watching your husband drink 4 2 martinis while I sip on my club soda/orange-pineapple cocktail...

...but I'm the one who wakes up with the -headache/nausea/fatigue- hangover.

C'mon week 12...!!

Week 10:

We've graduated to the Fetal period!!

I'm getting cloooooser...I see you 2nd trimester!  I SEE YOU!!  C'mon here, girl, come here!

I seriously need a good night sleep.  And a new pair of pants.  And a pantry full of salts, sweets, greens, and Reeses Pieces. I could probably purchase some more granny panties as well.

oy.

When I was pregnanct with Milo (WIWPWM) I remember distinctly there were 3 weeks (week 6-9) that were filled with the sleepy-head nausea. And then, magically, at week 10, I felt good. Non-pregnanct even...

But this time...all this started even before I took the pregnancy test, when I was barely 4 weeks along. (I took the test 4 days before my missed period, on December 28.  One reason was so that I wouldn't jack my baby up with all the alcohol I was planning on consuming for NYE.  Good thing...But my doc told me that was dumb.  I should have enjoyed myself and then waited for my missed period.  Ha, I love that lady!)

I've been feeling this nausea and fatigue harder and longer (hehe) this time around.  It's been 6 weeks. Where is the goddamn light in this tunnel??!!

Seriously, week 12.  I need you.  And spring?  And time change?  I'm looking forward to you, too.

Excuse me while I go cry into my Fiber One cereal.
