Reuniting and bonding with the local agri/culture is a true bonus when caravanning your family down the dirt road of hay sculptures-mazes of corn laundromats-veggie/fruit goblins of apple cider/caramel popcorn bags. I love this particular farm -one, because it's BIG. you don't find your typical long lines and constant "excuse me" sidestepping the tamtrum'd 2 year old while trying to hit up every. little. activity. No, this farm let's you feel the wind, walk the hills, and -whoa- actually enjoy -both the parents and (both the) kids- your time spent.
2 days before the dreaded deployment daddy take off, we took to the farm --and just like last year, I could easily live out my farm girl fantasies here...

Dear husbandpants,
You've been gone for a week 2 weeks now. And even though I can't talk to you or send you pics, I figured I'd post some pics here for you to see when you get your feets on dirts again. BTW, it 'tis a cruel joke to be alone with a 3 year old and a nearly 2 month old while your husband is deployed. Just says. But I have found my energy cape and "CAN DO" attitude and I'm livin' the good stuff. Case of the point.

Milo plays with his submarine during bathtime. He says, "Daddy is on a submarine...I want to go on a submarine TOO!" And then he says, "Daddy's job sucks ASS." Kidding...(maybe)

Did I mention the smiles? Melts. your. heart.

Mom and I took the kids to Halloween in the Woods. The line to the parking lot was ridic. The line to get into the park was ridic. And very soon Milo became redic.
In fact, he was pretty pissed off about the whole thing....
Come to think of it......maybe he was mad because I *didn't* put any thought into his costume. Sorry, Carebear, but this mama don't sew....

This might be a daily scene. Anyone want to come over and hold my baby while I fold some laundry and put on some pants?

We're doing good...but we sure do miss you...
.......As you can see I haven't completely lost my mind. Just my pants.
And this concludes week
love you,
L~
2 months!

2 months of this little love/joy. Ari has become my happy place. He's such a sweet one and delish-ness and chill and smiley and I love him and I love him. Of course he's with me All times and Every where but he also eases into a bouncy chair with little fuss or fury.
He makes me a better version of myself, of being a parent. One look from those pouty lips or sigh from his big blues he melts all of those whose blood runs red...
I love his little ways of communicating, the subtle gestures and looks and tone of cry or voice. I can tell he has grown to know and trust me. We're a total team. He eases easily and our nights have been running smoothly (knockknock). Some nights he sleeps from 9p-3a, others he'll awaken sooner. But it's all business and then he's back to sleep. He seems to get that the night is kept quiet...
I'd like to think I'm getting my groove with these boys...

Serenity Farm, October 14, 11am
It's that time o' year again! Hayrides, pumpkin picking, and pet your local four-legged farm livin' friends...
Crisp, fresh air, big blue skies, and...
Um... There's about a hundred different captions I could put here, but I'm a mother. And a lady. Ahem, yes...
Oh, hello, goat!
And like a good 3 year old, he bites his finger nails after petting the farm animals. *sigh*
Then, with a sudden and a quick, a storm came through and our tribe of moms/dads/grandmas/kids found our way to dry land.
The kids didn't mind one bit that their field trip took a 30 minute hiatus for the storm to pass through
Soon enough we were back on the wagon (haha) with grandma!
After walking though "Kasper's Kastle" -themed with various Disney characters...
...we walked through the hay maze finding our way to the...
pumpkin patch...
