The Next Top Model contestants: Baby Edition.

"Yeah, the dog is cool and all, but make him stop licking me!" This is something Milo hasn't done since he was a tiny tyke: fall asleep in daddys' arms, while sitting on the couch. He's usually too stimulated in the living room to fall asleep. These days I can pretty much put him in his crib and he'll fall asleep within a few minutes...It was late afternoon and he hadn't had much of a nap that day (morning or afternoon). But he squeezed in a little snooze before dinner...

Life's a Beach

If I can help it, I will have many beach postings...Here are Milo, Parker, and Lillianna (with the 'rents) playing in the sand, eatting rocks, and generally enjoying the beautiful day...

10 months

So as the months go by, Milo-man gets more active. That's just the reality. He is an all-out active boy. And as soon as I can enroll him into sports, all the better. My goal with these monthly check-ins is to revel at his rate of growth while documenting what he may be doing at the time. My other goal is to do this for only 1 year. Then maybe after that, every 6 months...we'll see. Capturing a pic for this month, in a word.....challenging...

Moms Day

My first Mothers Day was quite fun! What can be better than having people over to cook salmon and play with the babe? Though the husbandguy was out of town on a super secret mission for work and missed the day at home, I had friends and family join me to celebrate.

Here is Milo with his grandma. Milo really enjoys helping unload the dishwasher. As you can see, Grandma finds this behavior so cute... I, on the other hand, do not find the behavior so cute. In fact, it drives me insane...

These two, I call "The Ya-yas" ...They are my Original Mothers. What a friendship! Between the two of them they've raised 3 babes and now they get to witness my hand at it! Here's to family and friends, seeing each other through the long, strange trip...

Afternoon Playmate

Here is the oh, so sweet baby Milo taking his usual (usually) afternoon nap.

(Side note: For those with a trained eye, you can see how full his diaper is. And, yes, that is a bottle sitting next to him. Something I've only done a couple times...out of desperation, not laziness. Yes, I know that is a horrible habit on many levels). Milo awakens to find his princess Lil at the Casa, waiting patiently to play...

Milo, at 10 months, is still grasping the concept of sitting still for the camera. Kaboom!

So after 10 or so minutes of crying (maybe it was 30, I forget) he finally peels over and falls asleep. Thankfully the click of the camera didn't wake him up! But man, what a way to go! I was torn as to whether I should have repositioned him. I didn't want his legs falling asleep! I kept him like this and he eventually moved out of it.

Pre-Mama's Day Brunch

One of the things I really enjoy about being a mom is the opportunity to meet with other moms and share the unique moments motherhood affords. A few months ago I joined a local group that offers many opportunities for newfangled types of gatherings. Here are some shots from a brunch that was hosted at a private home.

I love seeing Milo with other children (when he isn't trying to wrestle with them). I can really see his personality begin to show itself more and more. I find it apparent how social he is and he really does enjoy a bit of chaos around him. He seems comfortable when there is abundant activity and conversation. It's when it's quiet he gets a bit nervous...I'm thinking he thinks quiet time is for naps and living should be done out loud....I hope soon he sees the value in quiet, independent play!

Where ya been?

Sadly my computer had to visit some friends at Best Buy. AGAIN. Good news is that it is still under warranty. Coincidentally, we bought a Dell notebook...dude...WE loves it!

Since our last post I have taken many many pics and have yet to download them onto the Dell. Mostly because that requires me to download software. I'm a bit lazy and forgetful.

So, my goal, is to download and post the happenings of our happening life here in No Beach...very soon. Like in a week or so...

I apologize for any withdrawl symptoms you may have been experiencing. I may be projecting a bit.

Oh yeah, and as you have already noticed. I'm public again. Not only am I lazy and forgetful, I'm also indecisive.

On a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon, the hubby and I ventured off to discover one of the few vineyards in southern Maryland...The wine held it's own with our picnic lunch. Oh, yes,we will go back! Not exactly Napa Valley, but still a great little trip to make!
