Giving thanks and gratitude

closeted Haiku artist without the rules of a Haiku...

I am civilized.  Very Very Civilized.  AKA, you can take me out in public, with hats I refuse to buy.

I wait for brunch. I was always serious about the brunches.

We take pictures of each other to pass the time. His smile is patient, too.

Oh Freakin (chick pea fries) Yum.  Well worth the wait.  I need this recipe. Stats & Pronto.

She had: Smoked Salmon/cream cheese/bagel amazingness.  Very Well Worth the Wait.
All of it went in ma belly. Truth.

He had: blueberry pancakes with creme fraiche. Le Sigh.

Dying...
We sit on front stoops/dirty streets on late nights...

We wait for the show to start (Upright Citizens Brigade).

I take pictures that seem very necessary and immediate at that time. The "philosophy of the life and times of a mattress" conversation embarks at 1am...

We have long, important disCUSSions about McDonalds edged between 2 buildings while we...

sip our tea and eat our bread baskets from across the street...
We go up. High.  Reminence your rooftop blues from a room called: teenage. Or maybe we're really thirty (2)  now..."it's hard to say...it's hard to keep up with time once it's on it's way..."

The beauty grows.  Finding color in this "forest of stone..."

We cover lots of ground whenever we're around...

loves you  aaron dot dot dot...!

ps Happy Thanksgiving!

nyc re-run, mini re-cap

So for 2 weeks I was all by my lonesome...(that book? Fly Away Home...coincidentally one of the main character's named her son...Milo...makes a smile to my face :)

with this guy...and it was nice and great and all...but then I went to...

NYC. And that was nice and great and all, too.

The End.

Hardy-Har -you know I took way more pics than that...commentary may be lacky due to some ridic sore throat/headache thing...

being this close to a cliff might scare some mamas...Milo at grandma's house....ah, that view...

and we hung out with some friends who have another amazing waterview...(mental note: do not burn bridges, piss off or otherwise estrange family or friends who have waterfront property.  Those people are fun to have around and make for good photo ops.)

A Brooklyn rooftop view...caged pigeons, hmm....

strike a pose there's nothin' to it...(mental note: do not grow apart or otherwise ignore friends or family who live in NYC and have rooftops that are fun and picture optimal)

Brooklyn: Year one. My BFF is all city, all good, and will never be rid of me.  Amen.

Elevater up to this cool what used to be a railroad in the sky thing.  Fuck!  What was the name of that park? The High Line?  Figures....

Beauty-full

Macy's: Where the parade sails through in a couple of days...
Happy times...

late October beach

I think we've all seen plenty of pictures that I've taken of my boy at the beach...

But you haven't seen the pictures my good friend, Jaime, has taken of my boy at the beach!

We are raising a generation of huggers...

Sand angels!

Milo insisted I hold him while going down the slide...6 or 7 times...
These moments don't happen as often anymore so I grab hold...

Milo and Ben throwing sand in the water

Little man, Little lady

I've known J. since the 4th GRADE!  From elementary to high school, losing touch as we lived our lives in far off states and travels, dropping random emails here and there and back again now into parenthood and living one county away.  What a joy it is to watch our kids (she's got 2! TWO!!) play together...23 years after we first met...unbelievable this whole time thing...

Tick-ew-teet! and Honey-DONE list!

Yeah, so Hi and stuff.

I find myself logging onto the blog and seeing the little thingy go, "Hey! A couple people have been visiting you!  WHY DON'T YOU BLOG A LITTLE SUMTHIN' !!"

And I'm all, "Well...I'd rather skim read the blogs I follow BLAHBLAH and then I've got to seem like I'm not a computer addict by not comingonhere when the husb is around and staying on for 3 hours BLAHBER and he was off all last week to complete something I called "The Amazing Honey-Dew."

You heard me.  He took a whole week off to complete a Honey-Do list.  Either he's crazy or I'm a total nag.  Hard to tell.

So we got new carpet for the basement BLAHBLAH and new blinds for 6 whole windows and new light fixtures for the bathroom, hallway, dining "room" and basement BLAHBLAH and the car needed an emissions test and -well, let's just say he we had a lot of stuff to do...

and then Halloween -OH! LOOK AT MY CUTE KID:

He's a pirate...riding a John Deere tractor.  They didn't have a ship on wheels this year.

Of course, he refused the hat, the shoe cover things, and the bandana.  He's not into accessories this season...apparently.

Next year, I may have to find my inner "save $25 and come up with something at home" self.

But he had a blast going door to door ("only if they have a light on!") and saying "tick-ew-teet!"
