My son channels Newton often

Think about this the next time your child throws the spoon during meal times.  He could probably be a genius. Probably.

the Good Life

Yes, he is sitting in a colander while holding a spoonful of peanut butter in one hand and mouthing on a tube of tomato paste in the other.  That's just how we roll around here...

Thanksgiving. It happens.

So...we went over the river and through the woods and landed at Grandma's house for Thanksgiving.  Right away we found it most appropriate to sit Milo on a stool, in the corner, put a dunce hat on him, and then take his picture.  Hey, at least we gave him a Wheat Thin.  Reduced fat, mind you.  Yes, that's Raisen Bran on the floor.

I fear it may be genetic.

And then it was time to take a walk with his brand new car thing!  Milo waits patiently while daddy pops a beer on his belt buckle.  Sexy.

It just wouldn't be Thanksgiving without organizing the plastic bags. Next to a broom and a muffin pan.  We have traditions in this family...

"Oh...mom, look...here's the Raspberry Vinagrette you wanted!  It still tastes fresh, by the way.."

And speaking of traditions...streaking may be genetic as well!

Doesn't Milo look like he's being gentle and nice with KiKi? I taught him that....

Milo "helping" Grandma organize and clean out the cabinet.

The picture of Dyfunction Easy E's!!

He's totally well-adjusted.

The morning after Thanksgiving Milo got his first Haircut!  This is before...

And after!  Doesn't look like a huge difference in pictures...but, trust me, Milo is even MORE handsome!

except in this picture.  Here he looks just plain 'ol dazed and confused...

Then we drove home and took naps.

The End.

sunday morning

Before child, Sunday morning was simple and slow.  Usually filled with sleeping in, a phattening breakfast, overdosing on caffeine of choice (I fluctuate between numerous flavors of tea and hazelnut coffee), watching t.v., reading the newspaper...generally just lounging...

Children don't really get this.

Milo, despite my winning arguments and attempts at bribery, does not buy into the whole Sunday morning rituals that Justin and I (and the rest of mankind!) created.  Specifically, the whole lounging part.

Which is all good and fair because I have worked hard at finding and creating a rhythm/schedule to our days.  The first year Milo was so haphazard with his naps, eatting, bedtime, up at random times during the night...  It drove me nuts!  I've always been a planner.  I find comfort in The Plan.  I'm good to deviate, I'm a flexible girl, but give me a little SENSE to the day!  So now, at the tender age of 16 months, we have a fairly predictable pattern of eatting, sleeping, and playtime. And Milo expects follow through! Also known as, get up off your ass people!

"See here, mom? You can pick anything from the Restoration Hardware catalog for me...and you just can't go wrong..."
(here's my attempt at getting him to lounge...lasted a whole 20 seconds before he started nagging me about Christmas presents...)

Since Milo isn't the biggest fan of sitting around and watching Sunday morning HGTV (rituals people!)... read: cranky, whiny, clingy, needy ...we journeyed out to the playround!

Oh, hello Daddy!

up, down, up, down...

Up next? The Beach! What a gorgeous morning on The Bay!

On the goodship lollipop with a hot cup of Cappuccino and a Gingerbread Latte from Sweet Sues...
Yum-tastic!

I heart Sundays!

Thanks, Milo, for getting us out of the house..at 9am...on a Sunday!  I hope you will always inspire me to stay in touch with my adventurous and spontaneous side!  And, yes, you may find yourself with a new item from Restoration Hardware this Christmas!  You win! (you always do!)  love always, mama

wordless wednesday or I prefer socks to Mum-Mums

I caught wind a while ago regarding "wordless wednesday."  From my understanding, the blogger posts a picture every wednesday, but does not explain the pic.  Thus wordless wednesday.  So let me try this...
