sunday morning

Before child, Sunday morning was simple and slow.  Usually filled with sleeping in, a phattening breakfast, overdosing on caffeine of choice (I fluctuate between numerous flavors of tea and hazelnut coffee), watching t.v., reading the newspaper...generally just lounging...

Children don't really get this.

Milo, despite my winning arguments and attempts at bribery, does not buy into the whole Sunday morning rituals that Justin and I (and the rest of mankind!) created.  Specifically, the whole lounging part.

Which is all good and fair because I have worked hard at finding and creating a rhythm/schedule to our days.  The first year Milo was so haphazard with his naps, eatting, bedtime, up at random times during the night...  It drove me nuts!  I've always been a planner.  I find comfort in The Plan.  I'm good to deviate, I'm a flexible girl, but give me a little SENSE to the day!  So now, at the tender age of 16 months, we have a fairly predictable pattern of eatting, sleeping, and playtime. And Milo expects follow through! Also known as, get up off your ass people!

(here's my attempt at getting him to lounge...lasted a whole 20 seconds before he started nagging me about Christmas presents...)

Since Milo isn't the biggest fan of sitting around and watching Sunday morning HGTV (rituals people!)... read: cranky, whiny, clingy, needy ...we journeyed out to the playround!

Thanks, Milo, for getting us out of the house..at 9am...on a Sunday!  I hope you will always inspire me to stay in touch with my adventurous and spontaneous side!  And, yes, you may find yourself with a new item from Restoration Hardware this Christmas!  You win! (you always do!)  love always, mama
