Of this and that

Milo was craving some cupcakes.  I KNOW...how WEIRD, yeah!?  So, like a good mom, I took him to our local bakery.  And YUM.  Of course, when we got home he wanted to bake some cupcakes.  So...like a good mom...

But Milo-man isn't all Milo-sweet.  Some days, and sometimes everyday, he would be a Milo-beast.
It's tough being 3, I suppose.

And then I bought a spoon holder that has a vagina painted on it.
I didn't even notice this until I placed it predominately on my stove.
I know!  How did I miss the vagina!?!

Me and my shopping buddy doing some retail therapy.
See: searching for the perfect vagina spoon holder...

We've had some pretty fantastic February days.
This mild winter suits us well.

Ari has taken quite well to this contraption.

...and so has Milo...

At 3 and a half years of age, Milo can give or take a nap.  Some days he'll go down easily, other days he'll just do cart wheels in his room while acting out a Power Rangers scene.

I prefer the days he naps though.

Grandma has taken a sabbatical in the southwest and sent Milo a feather.
He likes to pretend it's a gun.
So sweet...

Big brother likes to establish his Alpha-ness from the get go.  Here, Milo has wrapped a belt around Ari. I have a feeling these two are gonna have lots of fun at the expense of my peace of mind...

The day before the husb came home, Milo helped me put up Daddy's welcome home sign.
To say we were excited is an understatement!
74 days without the husb....

Safe and Sound!

And now Ari can sit up in this thing. The rock and play is growing closer to retirement...along with the 0-6 month clothing. GAH!

We get out of the house every once in awhile.
and Ari sometimes sleeps through it...

lots of baby wearing going on around here

Milo has a thing for twins...

and apparently so does Ari...

Visiting with some old friends and met a few new ones too!

giftmas

Oh yeah! I almost forgot to show and tell some Christmas pics.  Heh.  I've been busy carrying babies and stuff...

Our gingerbread house got hit bad this year by Hurricane Grandma-n-Grandson

Our tree was on a diet this year...borderline anorexic, really.

Me: tired and in need of coffee.  And a pedicure.  And definitely a haircut...A little make-up wouldn't hurt either...
Him: Ridiculously perfect!

5 months

In this months baby news...
The high chair has made its reappearance at the kitchen table.  Hello, old friend. Ari used to sit so still and quiet in my lap while I would eat, and now? He's become mr. grabby and shove in mouth man.  So though he is still working on his independent sitting skills, I've perched him in this contraption where he gets to play and perhaps have the occasional smashed up banana, oatmeal (mixed with expressed milk), and maybe a dab of hummus or gaucamole -all on a pre-loaded spoon.  This crazypants kid grabs the spoon and within moments can find his mouth and nom away.  I've decided to not go the store-bought baby jar route this time around and will be trying my hand at Baby Led Weaning.  More on that later. Maybe.  Blogging with these 2 is not a commonplace sitch.

Since the reappearance of the chairhigh, Milo is just itching to relive his good old times...

old times die hard, apparently...
cheerios and all

Ari laughing at his big bro.  Big bro isn't always enthused about this...

but in general, Milo will take the audience.

Extreme Baby Closeup

Ari sporting his Baltic Amber teething necklace.  Seems to be the real deal because I haven't found it necessary to use any other method to relieve his gummy uncomfortable-ness.  Except for the occasional frozen thing-a-ma-teething-bob, he's coping very well with the rite of teeth passing.  So far, it's TWO!
Every so often he cries like a real human baby! Aw...

No matter where we go (gym, store, meandering on a sidewalk or boardwalk) I get stopped and get questioned and get the happy.  So many people have told me that he makes them want to have a baby, or have another baby.  His demeanor has maintained a sweetness that is easily slurped up.

happy 5 months!

post bath holy cuteness

I know I know, is it really all that necessary to post all these pics?
Yes.
Yes it is necessary...

Bros of a flock

A rare moment where I have both their attention, both smiling, AND in focus! BAM!

I love catching Milo being affectionate with Ari, unprompted.

So far, Ari finds Milo amusing. It's the cutest thing to see Ari staring up at his big brother with a huge smile and a giggle.
Sometimes Milo laughs with him.  Other times he says, "Mommy, tell him to stop looking at me."
(and so it starts...)

But, in general....

they look after each other...
("Mommy...where's baby brudder?")

and are in a place of pure brotherly joylove.

I love seeing this beginning of a lifelong bro-ship.
